Do you have a digital thermostat that may need batteries?

Is your thermostat set to COOL (not HEAT or OFF)?

Is your thermostat setpoint at least 5 degrees LOWER than room temperature?

Is air blowing out of your vents?  If not, check your breakers or fuses, and power switch located near or above your furnace.  Note: There may also be a fuse as part of the power switch.

Still no airflow, call for service.

If blowing but not cooling, see if the outdoor unit is running. If not, check breakers or replace fuses.  Note: You may have a fuse in the disconnect box located near the outdoor unit, as well as breakers or fuses located inside the house (or outside near the power meter).

If outdoor unit still won't run, or makes an odd noise, turn off the thermostat and call for service.
